Our comprehensive resource list is an all-inclusive, intentionally curated network of free and low-cost services and resources to help mums access the support necessary for healthy parenting.  Each of the resources included is also committed to utilizing the five principles of trauma-informed care. 

 

Together, in partnership with those identified in our resource list, we work to provide resources our mums can trust. These resources are compiled from across the island and greater state of Hawai’i. They can be searched and are constantly updated by our team. This guide was created to provide real-time access to trauma-informed resources across the island.

The Affordable Housing and Homeless Alliance works to promote housing which is decent, affordable and appropriate. The Alliance is a statewide coalition of organizations, concerned individuals and people who are homeless, have low incomes or special housing needs.

The Ala Moana Jaycees is a leadership development organization for men and women between 21 and 39 years of age. The primary emphasis of Jaycees is the development of leadership skills and experience to help individuals advance their careers while making positive contributions to their community.

AlohaCare is a community-led, non-profit health plan founded in 1994 by Hawaii's community health centers and is the only health plan solely dedicated to serving those eligible for Hawaii QUEST Integration (Medicaid) and Medicare program.

Caring for Baby After Birth: The mission of Aloha Diaper Bank is provide essential diapers to families of low income, the homeless and those in crisis, and strive to keep the island clean through the distribution of clean, fresh diapers.

The Aloha Medical Mission is a volunteer organization based in Honolulu, Hawai'i. We provide free health care to the underserved. Aloha Medical Mission also provides the only free dental clinic for adults in Hawaii.

Brings resources, organizations, and people together to advance health, education and financials, the Aloha United Way’s work includes Covid-19 support; 211 hotline for resource referral; and funding resources for local non-profits. Aloha United Way's 211 helpline is Hawaiʻi’s only comprehensive, community information and referral helpline.

211 is powered by caring, local experts, trained to understand complex problems and connect people to community resources including:
• Food, shelter, clothing
• Support and care programs
• Keiki
• Kupuna
• Disability services
• Crisis intervention and disaster relief
• Domestic violence programs
• Rental and utility assistance
• Legal and financial assistance
• Substance abuse treatment
• SNAP prescreening

The ACLU of Hawai'i is a private, non-profit, non-partisan organization that has been protecting the civil rights and civil liberties of the Hawaiian Islands, Guam, and American Samoa since its inception in 1965. Their legal services and advocacy may be of assistance to you in a variety of areas.

APIAHF influences policy, mobilizes communities, and strengthens programs and organizations to improve the health of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.

This organization focuses on supporting mums to stop or greatly reduce tobacco use during pregnancy, post-partum and beyond.

We provide quality, affordable, and community directed health care to thousands of Big Island residents regardless of insurance status. We offer comprehensive primary medical, behavioral health, and dental care to our community.

The listings offer supportive services such as cash assistance, help with utilities, rental assistance, and other forms of help. In order to receive assistance, mums must call or visit these organizations listed directly.

Birth Mother Assistance offers resources for pregnant women through the form of support groups and medical assistance information. Mums often feel pregnancy side effects, such as morning sickness and depression. BMA helps provide further information on how to address these concerns. Very helpful in creating a pregnancy calendar and finding a hospital in Kauai.
