Our comprehensive resource list is an all-inclusive, intentionally curated network of free and low-cost services and resources to help mums access the support necessary for healthy parenting.  Each of the resources included is also committed to utilizing the five principles of trauma-informed care. 

 

Together, in partnership with those identified in our resource list, we work to provide resources our mums can trust. These resources are compiled from across the island and greater state of Hawai’i. They can be searched and are constantly updated by our team. This guide was created to provide real-time access to trauma-informed resources across the island.

The West Hawaii Community Health Center offers quality, comprehensive, and integrated health services accessible to all who pass through our doors, regardless of their ability to pay. We promote improved health and well-being through Ho’ola Kino (healing of individuals, families, and communities).

Free online learning resources for parents with children. The Wide Open School helps families and educators find trusted resources to enrich and support distance learning. Every day students can access free, high-quality learning activities across subjects, all in one place. More than 80 partners and supporters have come together to meet the change in learning needs of students, teachers, and families due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Caring for your Baby: A guide to pregnancy from birth to postpartum, the Wilcox Medical Center offers this handbook to help new mothers address all questions about having a new baby. Wilcox also offers maternity classes and other programs in many locations across Kauai, please take a look to see if there are any that can be helpful to you and your friend.

Eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice and freedom for all women, the YWCA has a focus on healthy living, fitness, and nutrition for the whole family.

The YMCA of Kauai is a charitable, community organization that includes men, women and children of all ages, abilities, incomes, races, and religions. We are dedicated to building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities by putting Christian principles into practice through programs that promote healthy lifestyles, strong values, leadership development, community interaction and international understanding. Our YMCA is founded and led by volunteers from our community; volunteers also serve as mentors, coaches, program leaders, instructors and more.

The YWCA of Kauai's mission is to empower women and girls and to eliminate racism in the state of Hawaii. From health and nutrition to education and advocacy, the programming helps promote healthy living and community.
