Our comprehensive resource list is an all-inclusive, intentionally curated network of free and low-cost services and resources to help mums access the support necessary for healthy parenting.  Each of the resources included is also committed to utilizing the five principles of trauma-informed care. 

 

Together, in partnership with those identified in our resource list, we work to provide resources our mums can trust. These resources are compiled from across the island and greater state of Hawai’i. They can be searched and are constantly updated by our team. This guide was created to provide real-time access to trauma-informed resources across the island.

The Kauai Montessori Project provides support for individuals on the Autism Spectrum. We offer services for a wide range of developmental stages, including early intervention, adolescence, teen years, and into young adulthood.

To address urgent public issues thru cross-sector planning & action, the Kauai Planning and Action Alliance is an advocacy group. Learn more about what issues and programs in your community are receiving attention, support, and investment.

The Kauai Rural Health Association is committed to recruiting and retaining rural health care providers. Also, to conduct health care training and planning symposiums for rural health care providers on the island of Kauai. Ko`olauloa Health Center (KHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive quality primary care, behavioral health and oral health care to its community and geographical region.

The LDAH works to enhance educational, work and life opportunities for children and youth with or at risk of disabilities by empowering them and their families through screening, identification, information, training and mentoring, and by public outreach and advocacy.

This is a HUD approved housing counseling agency. Contact them for assistance for the following: fair housing pre-purchase education workshops financial management budget counseling home improvement and rehabilitation counseling mortgage delinquency.

LASH is a nonprofit offering legal help for qualifying families. Check out their extensive services which include legal assistance, advocacy, outreach, and education.

Caring for Yourself Financials: Providing free and low-cost legal services to the low-income and homeless populations of Kaua`i. Focusing on family, public benefits, housing, and consumer law. The Center for Equal Justice provides self-help legal resources, including computers and internet access.

The mission of Life Foundation is to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS in Hawaii and the Pacific. Learn safe sex practices as well as education and advocacy for sexual health and wellness.

Caring for Yourself: The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps keep families safe and healthy through initiatives that assist families with energy costs. This organization provides federal funding to help with home energy bills, home repairs, and other home energy repairs. To learn about how LIHEAP can help you, please call (808)-586-5734, which is the Hawai'i designated hotline to assist and direct applications.
