Our comprehensive resource list is an all-inclusive, intentionally curated network of free and low-cost services and resources to help mums access the support necessary for healthy parenting.  Each of the resources included is also committed to utilizing the five principles of trauma-informed care. 

 

Together, in partnership with those identified in our resource list, we work to provide resources our mums can trust. These resources are compiled from across the island and greater state of Hawai’i. They can be searched and are constantly updated by our team. This guide was created to provide real-time access to trauma-informed resources across the island.

Tax credit for workers and families. Raising a family requires great financial investment. Learn more about programs to incentivize and support Hawaii’s families with tax credits and more.

Emergency food to vulnerable members of our community. Leverage this resource to help maintain access to healthy and nutritious non-perishable food. Keeping your pantry stocked with healthy options help ensure both mum and children are fed and supported.

Caring for Baby Nutrition: Hawaii Foodbank is committed to helping all those who need food assistance in Oahu and Kauai. By mobilizing thousands of pounds of food and produce, the Food Bank helps families reach either meals or the necessary produce to keep every baby fed and happy! (Same PDF as listed above/ also their 'Ohana Program seems to only be in Oahu currently will look into that)

The Hawai'i HIE is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization established in 2006 to enhance care coordination, to improve the health outcomes of Hawai'i's patients and reduce the cost of care for both patients and healthcare providers.

Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) provides accessible, high quality, cost-effective services that address the healthcare needs of Hawaii’s unique island communities.

Hawaii nature center has created a series of environmental education videos geared towards children ages 6-11. Connecting our children to our island’s natural beauty and history lifts up their heritage and understanding of the uniqueness of our islands.

A non-profit organization of community health centers dedicated to fostering primary health care basic medical, dental and behavioral health, and health education services for all Hawaii residents.

The people of Hawaii embrace health and wellness. The Hawaii QUEST program is a Medicaid managed care program. The state of Hawaii provides coverage of medical and mental health services for qualified Hawaii residents. Learn more about eligibility and application here.

The Hawaii State Department of Health protects and improves the health and environment for all people in Hawaii. Includes the Office of Health Equity and the Divisions of Adult Mental Health, Emergency Medical Services and Injury Prevention, Developmental Disabilities, and Environmental Health Services.

Resources for online learning. This resource is committed to implementing high impact family engagement strategies, programming and policies that build powerful partnerships among family, school, and community. Check out their newsletter, free webinars, and other educational activities to promote family self-efficacy and health.

The SNAP program helps put healthy food within reach for low-income Hawaiians. Based on eligibility, new mums may be able to receive a monthly stipend for healthy food purchases and nutrition support.
